https://www.insearchofhisancientpath.com/what-was-the-spirit-of-elijah/I’m updating some articles today. Here’s an update I just finished. The Holy Spirit is still speaking to me on this one. I know it is not finished yet, there will be more. I’ll provide the link to the article below the update:
King Herod Antipas, Israel is ruled by an Edomite (Essau) convert:
Herod the Great was born in the land of Idumea or Edom around 74 B.C. He was the son of Antipater of Idumaean, who was a high-ranking official for Hyrcanus II. Herod the Great was an Edomite that had converted to the customs of the Jews. The first time we see the word Edom used is with Essau, he was known by Edom Gen 25:30:
And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
The land that belonged to Essau became known as Edom:
Gen 32:3, And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother unto the land of Seir, the country of Edom
Gen 36:8 Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.
It was Edom that refused to let the nation of Israel to pass through their land during the exodus. Nu 20:20-21:4 Remember that Elohim see the people of a nation as a corporate individual body He speaks to them, judges the heart of each individual:
Deut 23: 7Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land. 8 The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the LORD in their third generation.
Amos 1:11 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue is brother with the sword, and did cast off all pits, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
In the past, the Edomites were ancient enemies of the Jewish people but they no longer were relevant as a people during this era. Many of the Edomites were absorbed into other cultures of the time. The Jews had conquered these people around 140 B.C. and forced many of them to accept their religion or to leave the region. Many Jewish people didnât care for foreigners worshipping Elohim and adopting their customs nonetheless Herod the Great was made governor of Judea when he was 25 years old.
His sons Herod Archelaus and Herod Antipas ruled from the throne after his death. These kings named Herod were that last recorded Edomites
Isa 63:1-8 I believe is about Herod Antipas, of Yeshuaâs day:
1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. 2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? 3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. 4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. 5 And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me. 6 And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
Bozrah in verse one comes from the root word .×.צ.ר From the Etymological Dictionary of Biblical Hebrew (EDBH) ×צר: protect from other forces 1. fortifying 2 harvesting; securing a home 3 attaining 4 no rain 5 protect gold. Strongâs says: A primitive root; to clip off; specifically to gather grapes (with references Lev 26:5, Jdg 8:2, Isa 24:12, Isa 32:10, Jer 48:32, Mic 7:1); also to be isolated. I would have to go with the Strongâs understanding of the root word to include gatherig grapes. Why? Because the scripture through the Hebrew language explain themselves. Verse two says his garments are red like him that treadeth in the winefat. In verse 3 Elohim says I have trodden the winepress alone.
As will be seen in this writing, Herod Anitpas was a type of Melchizedek. But letâs explore the color of Herodâs garment further to see if there is more that would tell us that Borzrah fit Herod Antipas.
In the book Rarest Blue: The Remarkable Story of an Ancient Color Lost to History and Rediscovered, the author Baruch Sterman writes about Herod Anitpas.
Masada was a secluded spot that Herod had build one of his palaces, it was a luxurious, Roman-style palace complex in the middle of nowhere, situated atop an almost inaccessible plateau on a rugged, barren mountain overlooking the Dead Sea in the Judean desert. It was here in Herodâs Masada Palace that a small piece of fabric was found inside of complex during archeological digs. The material was purple and originally thought to have been dyed Tyrian purple, but testing showed this purple fabric to have been dyed with red kermes and blue indigo.
Mar 15:16 And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. 17And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head, 18And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews
Herodâs soldiers put the robe on Jesus and sent Him to Pilate. Pilateâs soldiers jerked off the robe, scourged Him, and then dressed Him in a robe again â probably the same one used by Herodâs soldiers.
John 19:1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. 2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe
Did Elohim not say in Isa 63: 3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
King Herod Antipas was a convert to Judaism married to a Hasmonean princess. Being a covert and also being married to a Jewish princess made Herod palatable to the Jews he ruled as king. By Torah and by rabbinical Law Herod Antipas had joined himself to the Elohim of Israel, the Sons of Israel, the tribe of Levi, and had become a Melchizedek through marriage to his Hasmonean wife. According to Isaiah 63 he saw himself as their redeemer or kinsman redeemer. Essau was ruling Judah.
