He still makes miracles! Zikron, remembering, 2021

This year will go down in my book as the year of miracles. I pray every year going forward is as clearly delineated as this one has been.

When I look back at the situation I remember we were entering lockdown coming into the first of the biblical year. I remember יהוה showed up and supplied a beautiful field of wild barley the day before we entered into an extended time of not being allowed to leave the house if it was not ‘approved’ travel. And the miracle field was even in my legitimate line of travel. Just wow!

I remember how beautiful this one-time field that now no longer exists actually came to exist in our time of need; when we didn’t know we had a need! Frankly, it’s the most beautiful wild field of barley I’ve ever witnessed in Israel. Just wow!

The miracle field

To see Yah’s hand extended to us in a way and at a time, that we ALL were clueless it was possible to see wild barley so very early on the Gregorian calendar. How easy it would have been to miss the first flush of barley! Who knew? For sure we did not.

Or even that we should be already looking and expecting to see the ‘eseb’, the green grass of barley, above the earth. Just wow!

And then, let’s mention and remember, that after all these years of inspections of the wild barley fields, 20+ years by others, we were ALSO given a stunning wild field of wheat, heirloom wheat. The same type of wheat that was grown in Egypt when Jacob’s sons were there and the same type of wheat that was grown in the first century and offered in the tabernacle and temples. Just wow!

I can hardly believe what I’m writing from our experiences this year. Our Yah is still a Yah of miracles.

John chapter nine is the story of a man who had been blind from birth, the Pharisees arrived on the scene to question everything about the miracle. There were those who didn’t accept the gift of early barley from our Yah; they questioned and rejected the timing and quantity. The first-century Pharisees rejected the blind man’s testimony because it didn’t seem possible that one blind from birth could be healed. Yeshua had messed up their sabbath by His miracle. This year’s preconceived sabbaths of the biblical calendar were interrupted by a miracle field. Some accepted some rejected. There were those who pointed to history and said, there’s not a premise for a biblical year to come this early. But Yah! He does His own will and pleasure. He’s the one that sends the rain to this land. He’s the one that causes the grains to sprout. Just wow!

Yeshua created new eyes for the blind man. Yeshua spat on the ground, made mud, and gave new eyes to a man who had never seen before. Praise Him! We were given eyes to see this year and to see what could have so easily been missed.

Now to mid-year, the grapes, and the figs. Spot on timing. Oh Abba, you are just wow!

And finally to the olives, which I know so little about. Did they harvest ripe olives to make oil for the temple? Or green olives? Ripe olives release more oil but it’s not as pure because the flesh disintegrates. Green olives make the most nutritious and cleanest oil. Note to self, dig into history and try to find out before next year. I was happy to see some of the olive turning ripe, a sure sign all of the olives would make oil for the temple.

All of this is as new to me as it is to you. We are all on a very steeple learning curve about the seven firstfruits offerings. In 2019, it was just a whisper to my spirit I was beginning to hear. It’s His timing that He has chosen to restore this understanding to His Beloved. His treasures, aspects of His character, aspects of our character as we lay down more and more flesh and mimic Him.

I can’t think of a time in recorded history that it was not Yah reaching out to His people, to His prophets, His kings, His priest first to see if they would follow in obedience.

Now, Beloved of the Most High, you have certainly been equipped with enough proofs of Yah’s hand in the timing of the true biblical calendar this year. Your work is cut out for you. Be as the Bride (pomegranate) of the Beloved in the Song of Songs whose mind is only fixed to her Bridegroom . She only speaks about Him and her speech draws others to Her Beloved, they ask: why is her Love better than their love? Afterward, they are found seeking Him together!

Even though the firstfruits have been gathered there’s no time to rest. The fulfillment of the seventh month and the restoration of all things are on the horizon. Work while there are yet daylight hours to work. Speak of the miracle year and Yah’s provision of proof to His utterly perfect timing. His Biblical Calendar and His sabbaths of worship. Amen.

Beginning, mid, and end: Deu 11:14  That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil

Pomegranates and Dates 2021

The first of the poms and dates are in the Supermarket and shuk (city market). This means when the next new moon is seen the final ingathering fruits will be ready to be presented at the final go-up-to Jerusalem feast which is Sukkot, or Feast of Tabernacles.

More on sickle violence

Flint sickle blades…..can your understanding of Aviv-barley survive a primitive harvest? This subject is so very important in determining when to harvest the fragile heirloom barley.

Flint sickle-blades

It’s exciting these sickle-blade relics were discovered on the Galilee at a point I pass by with great frequency. The excavation is called Ohalo. It’s part of a larger area called Tel Beit Yerach. Beit Yerach, House of the Moon, was a very ancient community that once sat on a new moon island where the Sea of Galilee opens to allow the Jordan River to continue its course south to the Dead Sea. The island has been bridged to the mainland over the years as when time filled in the portion of the river that had previously divided the island from the mainland.

What’s even MORE exciting to me is that this little island was the shape of a new crescent moon with the horns of the moon-shaped island facing east just as the moon in the sky does when it is in sickle on days one through four.

Since I frequent past this location, I have a sneaking suspicion that the Jordan sill maintains an underground water channel in the area of the landbridge. My clue is the eucalyptus trees. The trees still grow as majestic and tall where the river once flowed as they do where the Jordan can still be seen.

Dates in the market

The 7th biblical month must be close because oh me, oh my. I spy dates!

We eat dates three ways. One way is photographed here in the post. The dates are slightly sweet and crunchy. Kind of an apple-like crunch, but the dates here still have a little tannin so they are drying to your mouth, like a cup of tea is.

The second way is when they are fully ripe. They drop from the cluster and they ooze sticky honey. These must be frozen to preserve them. I like this but it’s not my favorite.

The third way is dried and this is the form you are probably most familiar with. This is my favorite way to eat dates.

The seventh month is coming at us fast now!!!!

Bar, short for barley?

The Sumerian word bar may be responsible for English and other Indo-European languages for “barley” and “barn” as a place to hold it.) Henshaw was struck by the three large signs at the end of the tablet, at the bottom of the drawing. Reading from right to left we see a sun rising with the number “one” above it; a vessel containing (likely) beer; and a bowl. The bowl became a standard measure—the first money—for a ration of barley, the mean ingredient in beer and bread.

The word ‘bar’ also appears in scripture:

Gen 42:3  And Joseph’sH3130 tenH6235 brethrenH251 went downH3381 to buyH7666 cornH1250 in Egypt. H4480 H4714

H1250
בַּר    בָּר
bâr    bar
bawr, bar
From H1305 (in the sense of winnowing); grain of any kind (even while standing in the field); by extension the open country: – corn, wheat.
