The spiritual follows the natural (1 Cor 15:46)
Believing that the events written about in the below verses happened as part of our history, I want to share the spiritual understanding of these actual events.
Gen 6:4 There were giants (n’fil) in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty (gibor) men which were of old, men of renown (with a name).
H5303
נְפִל נְפִיל
nephı̂yl nephil
nef-eel’, nef-eel’
From H5307; properly, a feller, that is, a bully or tyrant: – giant.
From the root word; to fall.
H5307
נָפַל
nâphal
naw-fal’
A primitive root; to fall, in a great variety of applications (intransitively or causatively, literally or figuratively): – be accepted, cast (down, self, [lots], out), cease, die, divide (by lot), (let) fail, (cause to, let, make, ready to) fall (away, down, -en, -ing), fell (-ing), fugitive, have [inheritance], inferior, be judged [by mistake for H6419], lay (along), (cause to) lie down, light (down), be (X hast) lost, lying, overthrow, overwhelm, perish, present (-ed, -ing), (make to) rot, slay, smite out, X surely, throw down.
The root (or the parent word) is used for the first time in this location. It’s the first glimpse we are given that יהוהwill form His bride from out of the flesh of fallen man, Adam.
Gen 2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
I want to connect these shadow types as we go along.
The last Adam, Yeshua, in His death sleep, brought forth His bride from His physical body when the Roman soldier pierced Yeshua’s side. Blood and water flowed, and we could become new again, a second birth by and of the Spirit.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Eve was taken from the physical body of Adam. Our rebirth was by the Spirit into a new creation, and the bride of Mashiach happened from the physical body of Yeshua.
Continuing with the tyrant giants.
Num 13:33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
Imagine! This testing came at the time of the firststrip (first fruits) of grapes! Elohim declared the nation of Israel to be His firstborn (Ex4:3); as a body of people, they were the son of Yah. The sons of Anak had built names for themselves. Those names struck fear in the hearts of others. They were physical and spiritual tyrant giants.
This time of testing of the nation of Israel was the first fruits of grapes. This, as I’ve shown before, is in the 5th Biblical month. What is significant about this statement? Look back at the blood and water that flowed from Yeshua’s side. Yeshua said of the wine on the last night he ate with his disciples, just before He gave Himself to die:
Mat 26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. 29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
This generation that stood at the border of the promised land was being offered a renewed covenant in the time of the firstfruits of grapes. But they failed to enter the promise because of their fear of tyrant giants.
Deu 32:14 Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape..
What is written about the tyrant giant Goliath?
1Sa 17:2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines. 3 And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them. 4 And there went out a champion (a man of double interval, someone that stand, speaks and represents) out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. 5 And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass. 6 And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders. 7 And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: an one bearing a shield went before him. 8 And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me. 9 If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us. 10 And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together. 11 When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.
Goliath was a man of war, a man of renown with a name known to strike fear by his presence. He placed himself in a self-imposed position to do battle to taunt and rage at the nation of Israel.
1Sa 17:40 And he (David) took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip (traveling pouch); and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine. 41 And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him. 42 And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.
David, by the spirit of Yah fought Goliath. Goliath used the arm of the flesh. The shepherd of Israel stood against the tyrant giant in the field.
Below is the Valley of Elah. What is it we see other than fields? There’s such a pattern to be uncovered if you stay with me.
David was a type of Abel (keeper of flocks); Goliath was a type of Cain (a man of the field)
It’s an old battle from ancient times.
We see Cain harvested his field, and then he offered.
Gen 4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
ויהי מקץ ימים ויבא קין מפרי האדמה מנחה ליהוה׃
And it was from the extremities of day and came Cain with fruit from the earth, a donation to Elohim
Let’s look at what is correct in the eyes of Elohim.
Gen 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
ויהי מקץ ימים ויבא קין מפרי האדמה מנחה ליהוה׃
And Abel, he came also, and he from the firstborn, biccor and from the fattest of his flock and to gaze about and to consider towards יהוהand towards the donation.
Cain gave from his field at the 1) end of the days of the harvest, 2) he just gave without considering what he was giving or 3) to whom it was to be given. This is a strong lesson in considering the position of the firstfruits, biccur. It comes from the first and the best. The firstfruits are in first position.
Consider:
Amo 7:1 Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth (after crop, second flush); and, lo, it was the latter growth (after crop, second flush) after the king’s mowings (to cut off)
Second flush = after crop
First cutting, first flush = belongs to the King
In Amos, the first cutting is finished before the second can begin.
Consider the story of Esau and Jacob.
Jacob a man of the flocks as were Abel and David. Esau a man of the field, as were Cain and Goliath. Esau was a cunning (to know) hunter and a man of the field. Consider the passage in Gen 27:32-41 how Isaac trembled as Esau shrieked and raged about a position he had sold to his brother.
Gen 27:33 And Isaac trembled (shuttered) very exceedingly (big fear, anxiety until it was great), and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed. :34 And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried (shrieked) with a great and exceeding bitter cry (shriek) , and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.
Just as Cain had chosen to do wrong and his jealousy led to hate that killed Abel, so Esau chose to sell his birthright, and jealousy hated his brother because of it and planned to kill him (vs 41).
Rom 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Reaching back a little further in Genesis, there was a promise given to Eve. We need to see this promise to understand the tryant giants that walk among us are defeated; even if they do not understand this principle, I want you to understand it. They are simply the walking spiritually dead.
Gen 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. :14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
The seed of the woman, the Mashiach, was to bruise the head of the seed of the serpent.
Another shadow type is Yeshua, ‘the stone’. He’s the stone that the builders rejected, and He’s the corner stone (Mat 12:9-11). He’s the stone stumbling and a rock of offense (1 Peter 2:8). He’s the stone they followed in the wilderness (1 Cor 10:4).
It was David, with the tools of a shepherd, that reached into the water (a symbol of the Word) and pulled up a single stone (Yeshua) that he flung at the tyrant giant and wounded his head to death. The strength of the tyrant giants is the works of the flesh, the area that the serpent is quick to exploit.
In the end, all giants will be placed under the feet of Yeshua, but the tyrants still walk among the body today. Consider:
Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4 And they worshipped the dragon (serpent) which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
In the book of Daniel, I learned about the characteristics of the Breast through the life of Nebuchadnezzar.
Dan 4:25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
Nebuchadnezzar was regarded as his empire’s greatest king and remains famous for his military campaigns. He was a conqueror of nations.
In his sentence from יהוה he is made to eat grass from a field as a beast of a field. Please remember the understanding that men are as the grass of the field (1 Peter, Psalms). The beast Nebuchadnezzar became was the spiritual image of who he already was. The field is the world, according to Yeshua. Nebuchadnezzar was a conqueror of the known world; he devoured nations who were the people that made up the grass of the field.
It’s rightly said that the mark of the Beast is the number of a man. There have been many men that serve the image of the Beast who are exploited by the dragon, and there will be more to come.
In the New Testament, another image is given. Still a conqueror, it is the image of the Nicolaitan that conquers the laity. This type of individual will be quick to disfellowship and attack anyone who questions or disagrees with their absolutes. This type of individual sees themselves as having the only absolute truth that others must follow. Otherwise, they make war in the fields of the world.
Remember this Beloved of the Father, all the tyrants that are or ever will be are already defeated. Mashiach has won the victory over Satan, who is the one who gives the tyrant giant his power. Yeshua has taken victory with his perfect flawless sacrifice as FIRSTborn son and the FIRSTfruits from the dead, which is the singular preeminent position that belongs to Yeshua and Him alone.
We must stand humbly as David before the raging tyrant giants and see the deliverance of Yah. Where else do we have to go that exists words of life and healing other than to stand as David did with the spiritual weapon, that rock, the Word?
1Sa 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
Interestingly we learn in 1 Sa 23 the method of defilement the Philistines made towards the nation of Israel.
1Sa 23:1 Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshingfloors.
In many situations in life, we can feel we are facing a tyrant giant in the field of life. It’s a battle that’s been raging since the earth’s foundation. When you stand on that battlefield, pick up the shepherd’s tools and stand on the word.
We are not like those tyrants who fight, yell, and shriek in the flesh to prove who we are. We speak quietly, peacefully, truthfully, and wait. It’s not the arm of the flesh we lean on. It’s the Great Shepherd, Yeshua, who we follow who will deliver us.
